Lia Sued C. on Trading Digital Illustration for Tactile, Maximalist Drawing
Lia Sued C., an illustrator, has shifted her focus from digital art to traditional mediums, refining her techniques with markers, colored pencils, gellyroll pens, glitter, and stickers. She characterizes her vibrant and detailed artwork as "over-the-top," inviting viewers to explore its intricacies. Her themes encompass ice cream cones, insects, soap, and flowers. Motivated by her love for karaoke, she launched a YouTube channel dedicated to lesser-known songs. Influenced by icons like Mickey Mouse, Bráulio Amado, Mark Chagall, and David Hockney, she has a lifelong attachment to Chagall's Les mariés de la Tour Eiffel and credits Hockney for encouraging her to abandon "fake rules." Lia's illustrations have appeared in Crack Magazine and the New York Times, and she prefers drawing food to consuming it. Her portfolio can be found at liasued.com/home and instagram.com/liart420.
