LGA Architectural Partners Designs Indigenous Women's Shelter in Toronto
LGA Architectural Partners has completed Anduhyaun, an 18-room emergency shelter in Toronto for Indigenous women and their children escaping violence. The 11,862-square-foot project, completed in 2024, was curated by Susanna Moreira. The design honors Indigenous traditions through organic forms and materials referencing water, earth, and sky, contrasting with conventional rectilinear buildings. Anduhyaun is the only shelter of its kind in Toronto, focusing on healing and transformation.
