Leicho architettura's Via Caravaggio School in Sinnai Wraps a Flexible Agorà in Perforated Aluminum

architecture-design · 2026-10-18

In Sinnai, Sardinia, the newly constructed Via Caravaggio school, created by Leicho architettura, introduces a double-height communal space known as an agorà, replacing an outdated facility. This two-story structure boasts a compact facade and a permeable interior design, wrapped in micro-perforated corrugated aluminum panels that adapt to changing daylight. A recessed entrance connects the public plaza to the school. The agorà features tiered seating and a movable partition that separates it from a nearby music room, enabling diverse functions. Surrounding the atrium are adaptable classrooms and labs, with wide hallways and integrated green courtyards that act as informal learning spaces. Cèdric Dasesson provided the photographs, and the project was submitted to designboom, with editing by Christina Vergopoulou.
