Leica and Formula 1 Launch Limited-Edition Q3 43 Camera Priced at $9,950
The Leica Q3 43 Formula 1 edition, a limited collaboration with Formula 1, features a carbon fiber wireless charging handgrip, a soft-release button adorned with a carbon inlay and red rim, and a complementary thumb rest. This marks Leica's first use of carbon fiber, with all parts produced and tested in Germany. Racing-inspired elements include a Microvelour covering resembling a steering wheel, F1 logos on the lens cap and top plate, and a rope strap with both brands' logos. Red highlights on the soft-release button and a function button reflect steering wheel controls. The camera retains the standard Leica Q3 43 specifications, including a 43mm APO-Summicron f/2 ASPH lens and a BSI CMOS sensor. The unveiling took place at the Leica Store and Gallery in Los Angeles, featuring 26 motorsport photographs by Callo Albanese and hosted by Formula 1's Ariana Bravo and 2009 World Champion Jenson Button. Sales commence on October 21 for $9,950 / £7,300 / 8,500 euros.
