Lee Bul's First Solo Show with Hauser & Wirth Opens in West Chelsea

exhibition · 2026-08-18

Lee Bul's first solo exhibition with Hauser & Wirth, named The Anatomy of Every Setting Sun, is happening from September 10 to October 24, 2026, in New York's West Chelsea gallery. Curated by Dr. Jiyoon Lee, this show features new sculptures and other artworks that delve into how humanity connects with nature through technology and architecture. One of the standout pieces is Willing To Be Vulnerable—Metalized Balloon (2015–2016/2020), a balloon-like sculpture symbolizing vulnerability. The exhibition also includes new CTCS sculptures and works from the Untitled (Willing To Be Vulnerable—Velvet) series. This event comes after Lee Bul’s 2024 project for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and before her retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp, starting November 13, 2026.
