Lee Broom creates custom Crystal Tube Light for Madonna's 'Confessions II' film

British designer Lee Broom, known for his award-winning lighting and furniture, created a bespoke two-meter version of his Crystal Tube Light for Madonna's newly released 'Confessions II' film. The original handcrafted cut-glass piece debuted at Broom's 2015 Milan show, The Department Store. Madonna's production design team contacted Broom in February for a top-secret project. The adapted light fixture appears in the kitchen scene for the song 'One Step Away.' Broom's team increased the scale while maintaining the tube diameter, using hand-cut glass from the Czech Republic and assembling it in Barking, London. The scene was shot elsewhere in London. Broom, who interned for Vivienne Westwood and previously collaborated with Beyoncé on 'Black Is King,' sees this collaboration as a milestone. He will mark his 20th anniversary with a show in Milan and has recent projects with Lladró and Fendi Casa.
