LCE Photographer of the Year 2026 Winners Announced Across Multiple Categories

The London Camera Exchange has revealed the results of its Photographer of the Year competition for 2026. The event coincides with the organization's 70th anniversary. Sophia Spurgin received the top prize for her image titled 'Fish Eyes,' a street photograph captured in Hoi An, Vietnam, depicting a fisherman humorously holding fish over his eyes. The competition featured 14 distinct categories, including wildlife, action, after dark, birds, creative, emerging talent, events, landscape, macro, people's choice, pets, portrait, street, and travel. Additional winners include David Lyon for 'Saving Lives at Sea' in the action category, Hardijanto Budiman for 'Lonely Is The Night' in after dark, and Louise Norris for 'A Gazing Owlet' in birds. Other category victors are Brooke Shaden (creative), Millie Melvin (emerging talent), Jacek Salaga (events), Colin Page (landscape), Dikye Ariani (macro), Andrew Scott (people's choice), Carole-Ann Chambers (pets), John Lynch (portrait), and Helen Trust (street). The total prize fund was £10,000. New for this edition were the People's Choice and Emerging Talent categories, aimed at broadening participation. The competition is open to photographers of all skill levels.
