Lawndale Names 93 Artists for The Big Show 2026
The Lawndale Art Center in Houston has revealed its selection of 93 artists for The Big Show 2026, curated by Valerie Cassel Oliver. Out of over 1,000 entries, 105 artworks were finalized. Cassel Oliver, who currently works at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, previously held the position of Senior Curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston for nearly two decades. Featured artists include Dixie Friend Gay, Alexis Pye, and Randy Tibbits. The exhibition’s public reception is slated for June 12, running from 7 to 9 p.m., and the showcase will be available for viewing until August 15. Glasstire is the event's media partner.
