Lauren Carlucci Transforms Sutton Place Apartment into Parisian Jewel Box

Lauren Carlucci, an interior designer based in New York, transformed a one-bedroom co-op apartment in Sutton Place, Manhattan, for a couple from Connecticut looking for a pied-à-terre. Originally designed by Emery Roth in 1938, the apartment had an unusual layout and outdated features. Since establishing her studio in 2022, Carlucci redefined the floorplan, opting to reduce closet space to create a larger kitchen and bathroom while maintaining the original 1930s elements. The design showcases green lacquered closets, a hexagonal mirror, and a custom rug. The sunken living room is adorned with cream walls and burgundy furniture, while the kitchen boasts a dining nook with red banquette seating.
