Lancaster University architecture students showcase RNLI museum and other projects
The School of Architecture at Lancaster University presented a variety of student projects during a Dezeen School Show. Among the highlights was Davyd Tolkach's Folkestone Museum of Maritime Arts and RNLI Lifeboat Station, which pays tribute to RNLI volunteers. Other notable works included Justin Corbishley's timber workshop in collaboration with Forestry England, Sana Umarji's theatre textile reuse initiative, and Luca Bregazzi's center for phytoremediation utilizing Chinese brake ferns. Additionally, Amy Beddall created a Living Heritage Craft Centre for stone masonry and woodworking, while Freya Gallagher-Dickens addressed rural isolation with her Metabolic Hamlet in Wales. The curriculum emphasizes Future Practice, Digital Crafts, and the Climate Emergency, guided by tutors Ana Costa, Stephen Connah, Richard Brook, and Laura Miller.
