L-Shaped Seafront House in Praia do Guaeca by André Vainer Arquitetos
In Praia do Guaeca, Brazil, André Vainer Arquitetos has finalized a 505 m² residence designed for six siblings and their families. This seafront property is situated on a corner lot within a development area envisioned by Lúcio Costa. The L-shaped design ensures that most rooms overlook both the ocean and the garden with a pool. A caretaker's house is positioned near the entrance. Constructed on a previously filled site, the house extends linearly between local building code setbacks. Completed in 2023, the project features a concrete framework by Eduardo Duprat of Benedicts Engenharia, with contributions from Renátta Brandão, Anna Turra, Dlameza Engenharia, Beatriz Hubner, and F2 Engenharia. André Vainer led the team, including Tiago Wright van Deursen and others. The project was curated by Susanna Moreira and originally published in Portuguese, with photographs by Pedro Napolitano Prata.
