Kunsthaus Zürich Recontextualizes Monet, Picasso, and Tinguely in 'Evergreens' Exhibition
The Kunsthaus Zürich will present 'Evergreens. Selected Works from the Collection' from 11 September 2026 to 10 January 2027. The exhibition reexamines major artists such as Monet, Hodler, Picasso, Taeuber-Arp, and Tinguely, removing masterpieces from their usual collection contexts and placing them in new juxtapositions that offer surprising perspectives. Wall texts feature Zurich residents, including well-known figures, explaining their personal connections to specific works and why those pieces move, remain with, or inspire them. Highlights include Claude Monet's water lilies, Andy Warhol's 'Big Torn Campbell's Soup Can (Vegetable Beef)', Franz Gertsch's 'Franz and Luciano', Arnold Böcklin's 'Saint Anthony Preaching to the Fish', and Francis Bacon's monumental triptych. The show provides a fresh take on some of the most important artists in the Kunsthaus Zürich collection.
