Kovr Studio's Bio-Based PLA+ Covers Rethink Light Switch Design
Kovr Studio, a design workshop in Lille, France, has introduced modular switch covers that transform the appearance of standard light switches. These covers, made from PLA+, a bio-based plastic derived from corn starch, are designed to integrate switches into surrounding interior surfaces, addressing the visual interruption caused by conventional white switch plates. The covers can be installed and removed within seconds without tools or adhesive, offering a simple, non-permanent solution for interior customization. Each cover is handmade in Kovr Studio's workshop using precision digital fabrication tools, combining digital production with individual finishing. The material was chosen for its strength and flexibility, ensuring the covers can withstand repeated use.
