Kounellis and Warhol's Shared Spirituality Explored in Milan Exhibition

There's a new exhibition at Galleria Fumagalli in Milan called 'Kounellis | Warhol. La messa in scena della tragedia umana,' which is curated by Annamaria Maggi. This display, running until June 12, 2026, dives into the concept of tragedy by showcasing the works of two major 20th-century figures, Jannis Kounellis and Andy Warhol. You can see Warhol's 1978 negative serigraph of Marilyn Monroe and his 'Knives' series from 1981-1982. Kounellis's contributions include his 2005 piece 'Senza titolo,' where knives and axes emerge from hair, and his works from 2006 and 2009 featuring coats against metal plates. The lighting is inspired by Baroque chiaroscuro and aims to give both artists' works a deeper spiritual meaning.
