Valeriia Löffler designed the packaging for KOTORI Uji Matcha, which draws inspiration from Uji tea's long-standing history. The design features a sumi-e crane with gold foiling on textured Washi paper. Central to the artwork is a red-crowned crane, symbolically guarding a golden ceramic bowl, influenced by Edo period art. In Japanese culture, cranes signify longevity and elegance. The packaging utilizes rich forest-green matte paper with detailed feather patterns, while the golden bowl is highlighted with embossed foil. The fonts reflect the Japanese Ma principle, blending Ogg and LL Brown styles. The outer box is sleek, enhancing a serene unboxing experience with silk lining, a handmade bowl, bamboo whisk, and a minimalist tin for matcha. Instructions are elegantly presented on deckled Washi cards. The project showcases craftsmanship and respects traditional tea culture and is featured on Behance.
