kooo architects completes Luzhai Cottage in Shaanxi

kooo architects, led by Kojima Shinya and Kojima Ayaka, has completed Luzhai Cottage, a hotel in Yuwan Village, Ningshan County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, China. Completed in 2023, the 544 m² project sits on terraced slopes at the foot of a small mountain, surrounded by rubble retaining walls and overlooking farmland. The site, a habitat for crested ibises, features preserved ecological balance. The design team included Kotaro Kitakami, Hongdi Lin, Dan Jing, and Zheming Tian. Lighting was by Artelds. Construction was handled by Ningxia Songyao Engineering Co. (architecture) and Shaanxi YINO Decoration and Renovation Engineering Co. (interior). The client is Luzhai shanji・Yuwan.
