In 2026, KOMINORU Design completed the House with a Slit Roof, a 140 m² residence addressing heat from afternoon sun. The owners had long suffered from heat buildup due to an unobstructed front road and basin climate. Lead architect Minoru Ko used volcanic ash plaster (Soton kabe) among materials. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by Katsumasa Tanaka.
