Knicks Lucky Bag Displayed at Guggenheim Museum

The Guggenheim Museum in New York will display the Tux Clutch Mini handbag designed by Jordyn Woods, fiancée of Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, from tomorrow through Sunday in Café Rebay. The bag, created for Woods' fashion brand Woods by Jordan, became a viral good-luck charm during the NBA Playoffs and Finals. Fans credited it for the Knicks' first championship in 53 years, noting the team lost the only game where the bag was absent due to security measures for Donald Trump. The display follows a social media campaign where Towns suggested the bag belong in a museum, and Guggenheim director Mariët Westermann responded affirmatively. The museum noted the bag complements basketball-themed artworks on view, including works by Lin Yilin, Tschabalala Self, and the video installation Zidane, a 21st century portrait. Woods expressed surprise and delight at the exhibition, while Westermann highlighted the collaboration that made it possible. The bag will not tour beyond this week.
