Kinga Nowak's Solo Exhibition 'Rzar mi tropikuw' at Bunkier Sztuki in 2026
In the fall of 2026, Bunkier Sztuki in Kraków will present a solo exhibition featuring Polish artist Kinga Nowak, entitled 'Rzar mi tropikuw,' under the curation of Anna Batko. This exhibition will address themes of modernity, colonialism, and the concept of the 'exotic,' providing a decolonial perspective on European visual culture. Nowak's artwork will be showcased alongside folk art, 'primitive' artifacts, archival resources, and works from avant-garde figures such as Władysław Hasior and Edward Sutor. A highlight of the exhibition is the textile piece 'Curtain after Jean Genet,' which draws inspiration from Genet's play 'The Blacks.'
