KGB Crew Paints Mural for LACMA Exhibition at Charles White Elementary

On March 21, 2026, the Kidz Gone Bad Crew (KGB), a graffiti group established in 1984, unveiled a mural for the exhibition "From MacArthur Park, with Love" at Charles White Visual Arts LACMA Magnet. This artwork was completed in a single day on three eight-by-four-foot plywood panels. Participants included Gajin Fujita, Harlan Gleeson, Balthasar Adell, Chatree, and Brian Gleeson. Fujita, whose artwork is part of LACMA's collection, expressed pride in being a product of LAUSD. The crew originally formed at the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) during the 1980s. The exhibition, showcasing over 100 students from the magnet school, will take place on Saturdays from May 23 to August 1, 2026, featuring free workshops. The site, previously the Otis Art Institute until its move in 1997, became Charles White Elementary in 2004, named after faculty member Charles White. A climate-controlled gallery was maintained, and a collaboration with LACMA started in 2007. The mural is dedicated to Ramsay "Bud" Davila.
