WELA / Ketelbroek has developed a 3D representation of the Food Forest Ketelbroek, transforming the landscape architecture initiative into a compact, intimate format. This permaculture forest is illustrated on a dinner plate, showcasing branches and leaves with meticulous detail, enabling viewers to appreciate the texture of autumn bark. The studio integrates the forest with design tools: a compass outlines living moss on graph paper, wildflowers frame a geometric layout, and leaves drift in bokeh alongside coffee cups and sketches. The landscape is both tangible and edible, embedded within the design process. The color palette features amber leaves, deep teal-grey shadows, and shades of cream, steering clear of pure digital hues to evoke a handmade appearance. Close-ups of bark and flower edges achieve a photorealistic quality that borders on abstraction. A motion film enhances the experience, capturing ground-level falling leaves and showcasing the food forest's vitality in time and space.
