Kestner Gesellschaft to Show Solo Exhibitions by Min Yoon and Karimah Ashadu

This autumn, the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hanover, Germany, will host two solo exhibitions featuring artists Karimah Ashadu and Min Yoon. Min Yoon, born in 1986 in Cheonan and currently based in Vienna, is showcasing his first major solo exhibition titled 'A Pronoun of B.' His artistic practice, which encompasses drawing, painting, and sculpture, delves into the artmaking process and the institutional frameworks influencing art production. Yoon’s works often manifest as vibrant, multifaceted installations that integrate various interests and materials. The exhibition title's 'B' is thought to derive from an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph and a Proto-Sinaitic symbol resembling a house's floor plan, symbolizing personal space. Karimah Ashadu, born in 1985 in London, is a British-Nigerian artist focused on identity, migration, and cultural heritage. These exhibitions are part of the Kestner Gesellschaft's fall programming, a prestigious contemporary art institution.
