Ken Price's Alien Terran Turns PoMo Museum into Otherworldly Landscape

PoMo, the museum for contemporary and modern art in Trondheim, Norway, presents 'Alien Terrain,' a solo exhibition of the late American artist Ken Price. The show runs from June 25, 2026, to January 3, 2027, and features Price's experimental ceramic sculptures that evoke an otherworldly quality within the museum's white interior. Works such as 'Cheeks' (1998), 'Crookton' (2006), and 'Chicton' (2009) demonstrate Price's technique of layering and sanding paint to create dynamic, life-like textures. Born in Los Angeles, Price later moved to Taos, New Mexico, after visiting Dennis Hopper. His work is often linked to jazz music for its improvisational energy. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Ken Price Estate and Matthew Marks Gallery.
