Katsumi Hayakawa Translates Infiniment Coty Paris Fragrance into Glass Artwork

Katsumi Hayakawa, a Japanese artist celebrated for his intricate paper constructions and paintings that delve into urban environments and unseen frameworks, has partnered with Infiniment Coty Paris for the Les Osmiums fragrance collection. Tasked with interpreting L'Amour Pourpre L'Osmium, Hayakawa crafted a visual piece on a glass canvas using stackable bottles from Infiniment Coty Paris. This fragrance, inspired by osmium—the densest metal—harmonizes lavender, sage, and bergamot with notes of vanilla, cistus, patchouli, and amber. Hayakawa's artwork embodies the perfume's interplay of light and shadow, reflecting its dynamic essence. He characterized the collaboration as a means to forge new links between art and sensory experiences, highlighting the blue cap and label's resonance with his artistic themes. Upcoming exhibitions include a solo show on May 2 at McClain Gallery in Houston, showcasing ten large-scale paintings and five paper works, as well as group presentations in the fall through Galerie Electron Libre in Paris, including the POSITIONS Art Fair in Germany. A solo exhibition at Gallery MoMo in Tokyo is set for 2027.
