Kaspar Müller's 'Maintenance 3' Opens at Nicolas Krupp Gallery, Basel

exhibition · 2026-08-31

From 28 August to 31 October 2026, Galerie Nicolas Krupp in Basel, Switzerland, will host 'Maintenance 3', an exhibition by Swiss artist Kaspar Müller. This showcase features remnants from the studio, found objects, personal photographs, and older drawings, all arranged to resemble a storage space, exploring themes of decay and the repurposing of meaning in both art and daily life. Born in Schaffhausen in 1983, Müller reinterprets previous works, converting sculptures into drawings and whitewashing 'Mandala' paintings. Among the displayed items are a cut glass traffic cone and materials from children's workshops. This marks the third installment of the 'Maintenance' series, following previous exhibitions in Milan ('Maintenance 2', 2022, and 'Maintenance', 2017). The exhibition text cites Gerhard Meier and includes a quote from Dieter Roth's 1968 translation of Spoerri's work. Müller is a widely exhibited artist with numerous accolades. Arthur Fink reviewed the exhibition on 27 August 2026.
