Káryyn releases second album after 16 years of work

Singer Káryyn has released her second album, 'Physics Universal Love Language' (PULL), nearly two decades after she began working on it. The album features collaborators including producers James Ford and Hudson Mohawke, and mix engineer Marta Salogni, though Káryyn serves as executive producer. Inspired by Buddhism, neuroplasticity, folklorist Alan Lomax, and Princess Peach from Super Mario Brothers, the album explores female empowerment. Káryyn, who has synaesthesia, describes her music as painting with words and textures. Her debut album 'The Quanta Series' (2019) explored her American-Armenian-Syrian heritage. She splits her time between London, Berlin, and Yerevan, where she will perform on 26 June. Káryyn cites Alice Coltrane, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Arthur Russell, and Nancy Ajram as summer listening influences.
