Karolina Halatek's Echo Installation at Istanbul's Atatürk Cultural Center

Karolina Halatek's light installation, 'Echo,' is on view at Istanbul's Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) as part of the Digital Art Festival Istanbul, taking place from June 3-7, 2026. This piece invites visitors to interact with its design, encouraging a deeper, personal reflection on how our bodies relate to the spaces around us. Drawing from concepts in somaesthetics and trauma theory, it aligns with Gabor Maté's idea that healing involves reconnecting with one’s body. Halatek, who is pursuing her PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and has been a visiting researcher at the Royal Danish Academy, has studied at UAL, UdK Berlin, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. 'Echo' creates an immersive environment using light to foster awareness and delve into themes of quantum entanglement.
