Jupiter Artland Takes High Street Art Programme Nationwide with Jupiter+ Nation

Jupiter Artland is launching Jupiter+ Nation, a national platform for young people and communities across Scotland, expanding from its successful high street art programme. The initiative begins in Dumfries this summer, taking over a former estate agent's office in the Loreburne Shopping Centre. On 31st July 2026, it opens with 'Growing Pains', an immersive installation by Lindsey Mendick, featuring ceramic dollhouses and a video work exploring adolescence. A free learning programme follows on 28th August, running until 6th December. Jupiter+ started in Perth in 2022 and expanded to Ayr, Paisley, and Dundee, attracting over 20,500 visitors and engaging 2,536 young people. The programme includes workshops, artist commissions, mentoring, and youth development. Independent evaluation from Dundee showed 73% of participants felt more inspired to use creativity for issues that matter. Nicky Wilson, Director of Jupiter Artland, highlighted the milestone. The launch addresses youth disengagement by turning empty commercial spaces into free art venues. After Dumfries, the network will continue to grow across Scotland.
