Junya Watanabe Presents The Art of Assemblage Couture for Autumn/Winter 2026 in Paris

In an underground carpark located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, Junya Watanabe showcased his womenswear collection for Autumn/Winter 2026, titled The Art of Assemblage Couture. The presentation highlighted innovative pieces crafted from common materials, such as a leather coat fashioned from repurposed motocross gear, a skirt adorned with car mirrors, and a dress created from vintage curtains. Other materials included foil blankets, picture frames, and a replica of Warhol's 1967 Marilyn silkscreen. Silhouettes drew inspiration from Victoriana and Edwardiana, reflecting the influence of haute couture legends. Model Irina Shayk opened the event in a gown made from motocross gloves and automotive components. Watanabe, in an interview with Susannah Frankel, stressed the theme of freedom in couture. The collection will be available to a select group of clients. This show coincided with presentations by Rei Kawakubo and Kei Ninomiya.
