Julio Torres Debuts Furniture Collection Inspired by JFK Customs Line
Comedian Julio Torres has created his first furniture collection, All Other Passports, in collaboration with New York-based home décor brand Sabai. The collection, named after the customs line for non-U.S. citizens, includes four limited-edition pieces designed for welcoming guests. Torres and Sabai co-founder Phantila Phataraprasit, both immigrants, bonded over their familiarity with Harry Roseman's installation 'Curtain Wall' (2001) at JFK Airport's Terminal 4, which inspired the collection. Pieces include a daybed with legs resembling NYC bridge arches, a stainless-steel folding screen with a wood inlay curtain illustration echoing the Terminal 4 sculpture, and a wooden stool doubling as a side table with a collage of everyday essentials.
