Julio Bauzá and Julián Molina Dual Exhibition at Ibiza Lighthouse

A joint exhibition titled "Piedra, papel o… madera" (Stone, Paper or… Wood) opens July 9 at 19:30 at the Faro de Ses Coves Blanques in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza. The show features sculptors Julio Bauzá and Julián Molina, who both explore perception and materiality. Molina works with wood, creating pieces that challenge balance and optical illusion, emphasizing tactile textures and colors. Bauzá, the island's oldest active artist who turned 90 in July, presents a selection of his "triedros"—architectural elements that exploit optical potential through viewer movement—alongside his iconic "Còdols" sculptures, which combine iron and stone in a serialist, bichromatic style. The exhibition also includes Bauzá's latest paintings, a collection of triedros. Curated by Nuria del Río Pinto, the show runs until July 31 during the lighthouse's visiting hours. Support came from the Ajuntament de Sant Antoni, Regiduria de Cultura, and Ocean Drive, which also funded the catalog.
