Josh Kjenner Designs Contemporary Cabin on Lake Wabamun

Josh Kjenner Architect has completed a contemporary cabin on Lake Wabamun, Alberta, designed as a year-round retreat for a young family. The 2,800-square-foot residence serves a couple—an academic and an entrepreneur—who spent childhood summers in lake cabins across Alberta and wanted to recreate those experiences for their two children. The project, curated by Susanna Moreira, accommodates seasonal activities including kayaking, skating, hockey, and tobogganing. Photographs by Hayden Pattullo document the completed structure, which was finished in 2025.
