José Villalobos and Keith Michael Murphy Debut Collaborative Show at Presa House Gallery

At Presa House Gallery in San Antonio, José Villalobos and Keith Michael Murphy unveil their inaugural joint exhibition titled "The Violence of Armor," which will be on display until June 20, 2026. This showcase delves into queer masculinity through a variety of mixed-media installations that incorporate South Texas flora, metalwork, photography, and repurposed materials. The artists first crossed paths in 2024 during Villalobos' solo show "Diseñando Masculinidades" at ArtYard in Frenchtown, New Jersey. The exhibition comprises four distinct themed rooms, featuring diptychs with nopal cactus, the "Lace and Leather #1-8" series, and "Embedded in a man's armor are memories #1-3." Among the highlighted pieces are "What is meant to protect us, detains us" and "Let me let you go." This year marks the tenth anniversary of Presa House Gallery.
