Jorge Charrua Unveils "Marathon" Mural at Conversas na Rua 2026 in Amadora

exhibition · 2026-10-03

Jorge Charrua has unveiled a mural called "Marathon" in Amadora, Portugal, as part of the 12th edition of Conversas na Rua. Completed in 2026, this piece goes beyond just sports, addressing the pressure society places on us to hit certain life milestones by specific ages. Charrua points out that these expectations from family and friends often ignore how much times have changed. He promotes a kinder view of progress, suggesting we should choose our own paths and move at our own pace. The mural can be found on the wall of a building at Rua Elias Garcia 149 in Venteira, painted between September 3 and 14. This is Charrua's second time participating in Conversas na Rua, after his involvement in 2020. He expressed appreciation for the community's support and based the mural on a real person's journey rather than a generic race.
