Jonathan Travis on collecting, Tribeca gallery migration, and Wolf Hill residency

Jonathan Travis, a realtor and art collector at Redwood Property Group, has facilitated the relocation of around 40 galleries to Tribeca and 20 others in Manhattan since 2013. He co-founded Wolf Hill, an artist residency in Chappaqua, New York, with Ethan Rafii in 2021, operating from a country house that also displays their collections. Travis's first purchase was a Nicole Eisenman painting from a Paddle8 charity auction ten years ago; his most recent is by Masanori Tomita. He regrets not buying early work by Louis Fratino. His dream acquisition is Caravaggio's The Calling of St Matthew from San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome. He looks forward to the Salvador Dalí show at Di Donna and the May auctions.
