Jonathan Anderson's Second Dior Couture Collection Recalibrates the House

Jonathan Anderson presented his second Dior haute couture collection for Autumn/Winter 2026, honing his message to a 'knife's pleat'. The collection featured extensive pleating, inspired by American sculptor Lynda Benglis, whose knotted works from the 1970s informed the twisted fabric constructions. Anderson also cited a connection to his first couture collection, shaped by Magdalene Odundo. The show included short panniered gowns in plissé lamé, hand-painted porcelain handbags, and reinterpretations of Dior archival pieces like the Y-line of 1955 and a 1948 coat named Arizona. The silhouette evoked the 1950s with fluted-hem jackets and slender skirts, while linings hung out of suit jackets, and a fleecy jacket was dubbed 'Juicy Couture'. Anderson consolidated Dior's history with his own vision, making the house his own.
