John Snyder Builds Over 1,000 Squirrel Boxes for Wildlife Safety

Wildlife enthusiast John Snyder has created more than 1,000 wooden squirrel boxes designed to offer safe shelters for squirrels. These boxes are built to limit airflow, ensuring warmth during the winter, and are resistant to predators; some even include cameras for observation. Snyder has seen as many as 16 unrelated squirrels sharing a single box in frigid conditions. He offers a range of models, including budget-friendly lodges and watchtowers, as well as feeders and solar panels. His goal is to enhance the lives of squirrels in backyards, parks, and preserves nationwide.
