John Moods to Perform at POPUP! in Paris

John Moods, the solo project of Berlin-based musician Magnus, will perform at POPUP! in Paris. The concert celebrates the deep friendship and musical connection between Magnus and John, serving as a prelude to new music expected later this year and next. The set will include unreleased material and rearranged versions of previously published tracks, including those from Zenmenn. John Moods creates marginal pop songs that touch the heart, with colorful arrangements highlighting his voice and intuitive melodies, while his lyrics explore themes of death, the divine, and life's mysteries. Growing up on the outskirts of West Berlin, Moods began playing guitar at a young age and wrote his first songs and played in bands from age 13. In 2012, he co-founded the art rock group Fenster. After releasing four albums with the group, he launched his solo career in 2018 with 'The Essential John Moods' on Mansions and Millions, followed by 'So Sweet So Nice' in 2021, which included a poetry collection titled 'Sounds of a Clown' co-published with Arbutus Records. His latest solo album, 'The Great Design', was released in 2022. He has also collaborated on notable projects, including 'Hidden Gem' with The Zenmenn in 2022 and an album under the name Dead Sound with Young Marco in 2024, both released on the Music from Memory label.
