Jisoo Yoo's Dream House: A Floating Architecture of Collective Wishes at Les Tanneries

Jisoo Yoo, an artist, recently unveiled her interactive installation, Dream House, at Les Tanneries – Centre d'art contemporain in France, as part of the (F)ESTIVALES program. In this project, visitors are invited to write down their dreams and hopes on clothing, which are then used to build a floating house. This structure evolves based on these shared contributions, embodying collective aspirations. Yoo emphasizes that while dreams are individual, they are shaped by society and community values. The installation transforms personal thoughts into a collective architectural experience, emphasizing change and transience. Each piece of clothing acts as a memory and a building block, forming a ceiling that adapts to participants' wishes. Yoo describes the floating house as a representation of desire's ability to create and life's fleeting nature. The project was produced by Art Exprim, with photography by Gabriella Benkő.
