Jessy Razafimandimby Inaugurates Experimental Program at LaM in Lille

exhibition · 2026-10-20

Born in Madagascar in 1995, Jessy Razafimandimby is the first artist featured in a new LaM program devoted to emerging contemporary practitioners. His practice spans painting, sculpture and drawing, folded into immersive installations assembled from found objects. For this presentation he produced an unpublished body of work that mixes human and animal figures, set in dialogue with the LaM collection, including major figures of Art Brut. Furniture, textile fragments and trinkets form part of the installation, some of it sourced at the Grande Braderie in Lille in 2025. Through exhibitions of young artists, the museum positions itself as a field of experimentation — an open, critical and lively place. A press kit and booklet accompany the show at the Musée d'art moderne, d'art contemporain et d'art brut de Lille Métropole.
