Jessica Ayromloo Transforms 1966 Howard Lapham-Designed Palm Springs House with Barbarella-Inspired Interiors

architecture-design · 2026-09-28

Interior designer Jessica Ayromloo from Los Angeles has transformed a 9,445-square-foot home located at 650 E Tachevah Drive in Palm Springs, which was originally crafted by Howard Lapham in 1966. Acquired by a real estate developer and his partner, Ayromloo redefined the 12 bedrooms and entertainment spaces while maintaining the midcentury charm. Notable elements include a fireplace clad in metal, unique coffee tables, and a bespoke rug. The dining area boasts a glass table with mirrored legs and a pendant light reminiscent of a Slinky. In the kitchen, there’s a mosaic-tiled hood made of cut glass alongside pistachio cabinets. The primary bedroom is highlighted by a custom bed and a silvery carpet. This renovation was showcased in Wallpaper*.
