Jenny Holzer Illuminates Musée d'Orsay Façade and Permanent Collections Through February 2027

exhibition · 2026-10-20

Jenny Holzer's exhibition "J'ai vu" at the Musée d'Orsay features seventeen marble benches and two engraved marble columns, running from 20 October 2026 to 21 February 2027. Each bench displays text linked to nearby pieces, including a quote from Camille Claudel in front of Rodin's Porte de l'Enfer and a letter from Morisot to her daughter near Le Berceau. The rare marble benches also reference works by Cezanne, Bonnard, and Courbet. Outdoor projections, available nightly until 22 October, will present letters and documents from various artists. Additionally, two rooms showcase Holzer's commentary on war and violence, highlighted by a lengthy LED screen cycling through over 750 texts from 73 authors. Gausserand points out the exhibition's relevance to current issues.
