Jennifer Rubell Launches AI Texting App Attune at Meredith Rosen Gallery

Jennifer Rubell's solo exhibition at Meredith Rosen Gallery in New York, running from June 3 to June 26, 2026, centers on her new AI-powered smartphone app Attune. The app analyzes draft text messages to identify underlying social moves (e.g., hesitation, vagueness) and rewrites them in the user's voice to be clearer and more confident. The exhibition includes three artworks: Baller, featuring thousands of hand-stamped beach balls (250 signed limited-edition collectors' items, one granting lifetime app access); Young Man with Phone, a month-long performance of a hunched-over twenty-something absorbed in his device, whose number is displayed for visitors to text; and Free for a Month, an oil-on-canvas diptych with a QR code for 30-day free access. Attune launches on the App Store June 3, 2026, with subscriptions at $12.99/month. Rubell (b. 1970) is an American conceptual artist known for participatory works; her previous exhibitions include Fondation Beyeler, LACMA, Performa, Dallas Contemporary, The Power Plant, Saatchi Gallery, and Brooklyn Museum. This is her fourth show with Meredith Rosen Gallery.
