Jemima Wyman Survey Exhibition 'Deep Surface' at Samstag Museum

From June 26 to September 18, 2026, the Samstag Museum of Art in South Australia will showcase 'Deep Surface,' an exhibition featuring the work of Jemima Wyman, a Palawa artist based in Los Angeles. This exhibition highlights Wyman's vibrant, intricate hand-cut collages, which are inspired by a personal collection of found photographs that capture global protests. It delves into themes of camouflage, collective action, democracy, and dissent, creating immersive environments that turn the turmoil of protest into rhythmic beauty. The exhibition is a collaboration with QUT Art Museum in Queensland and UNSW Galleries in Sydney. One notable piece, 'Declassified 76' (2023), is a hand-cut digital photograph sized at 30 × 20 cm, provided by the artist and Sullivan+Strumpf, Melbourne and Sydney.
