Jeff Koons Creates Limited-Edition Bottles for Evian's Bicentennial Celebration

For its 200th anniversary, the Evian water brand has partnered with artist Jeff Koons to produce two limited-edition glass bottles. The collaboration marks the first time the company has worked with a visual artist, having previously engaged primarily with fashion designers since 2007. Koons designed distinct bottles for still and sparkling water, both featuring his signature balloon dog motif. The still version displays a pink balloon dog with a pink cap, while the sparkling bottle presents the same design in blue. Both are adorned with silver ribbons. Koons explained that he selected the balloon dog imagery because it aligns with the brand's iconic status and conveys a celebratory, optimistic spirit. The balloon dog sculptures, which first appeared in the mid-1990s as part of his 'Celebration' series, are among his most recognizable works. An orange version sold for $58.4 million at Christie's in 2013, setting a record at the time for the highest price achieved by a living artist. Evian, sourced from glacial rocks in Évian-les-Bains in the French Alps, was discovered in 1789 and first bottled in 1826. The anniversary initiative also includes partnerships with athletes such as tennis players Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, and Francis Tiafoe, as well as golfer Céline Boutier.
