Jeanne F. Jalandoni's Imagined Memories at RCA Degree Show

At the RCA degree show, Jeanne F. Jalandoni, a candidate for an MA in Painting set to graduate in 2026 from the Royal College of Art in London, showcased her work titled "Life for a Life" (2026). This series comprises sculptural installations featuring wooden cutouts adorned with vibrant flora and faded family photographs, emphasizing the theme of familial memory through Philippine textiles. Originally from New York and currently residing in London, Jalandoni's multimedia artistry delves into the identity of second-generation Filipino Americans. Her previous projects include "Filipino Party" (2021), which depicted female figures in Filipino rituals through oil-on-canvas cutouts, and her debut solo exhibition "In the Belly" (2023), focusing on the carabao's cultural importance.
