Jean-Marie Del Moral's Intimate Studio Photographs at Bouvet-Ladubay

The exhibition 'Ateliers et portraits d'artistes' is currently on display at the Centre d'art contemporain Bouvet-Ladubay in Saumur, showcasing 107 photographs taken by Jean-Marie Del Moral over a span of nearly 50 years. Born in 1952 to exiled Spanish Republicans, Del Moral started his career as a reporter for L'Humanité before his encounter with Joan Miró in 1978. This exhibition features works from 56 artists, including Pierre Soulages and Miquel Barceló, with 23 having previously shown at the centre. Del Moral’s subtle style unveils hidden creative environments, presenting large-format images of studios, portraits, and thematic collections, including striking contrasts between Miró and Pierre Alechinsky. The Bouvet-Ladubay estate has been a contemporary art venue since 1992.
