Jean Lin Expands Colony with Architecture Studio and Foundation
Jean Lin, founder of New York City–based Colony, has announced the launch of Colony Architecture, a full-service architecture studio, and The Colony Foundation for Independent American Design, a not-for-profit entity. Colony, established in 2014, is a cooperative gallery, design studio, and strategy firm. Lin also introduced Colony Presents, an invitation-only program for boutique design studios, and has completed three cohorts of The Designers' Residency, an incubator for emerging American design studios. The foundation aims to grow the global influence of independent American designers; Lin is currently establishing a founding advisory board and fundraising. Colony Architecture will encompass all aspects of the built environment, building on the firm's experience in interiors and real estate staging. Lin's work spans lighting, furniture, interiors, and a book.
