Jakob+MacFarlane builds shelter from reclaimed pallets on Normandy coast

So, there's this architecture firm in Paris called Jakob+MacFarlane, and they've just wrapped up a project called 'A Shelter for Peace.' It's a temporary structure located on the Cap Carteret headland in Normandy, France. Nadine Gandy from Gandy Gallery commissioned it as part of the Common Shelters initiative. They built the walls and seating using reclaimed wooden pallets, which is pretty cool. The design really takes into account the tough coastal weather, providing stunning views of nearby islands while creating a cozy spot to gaze at the sky. Plus, it’s eco-friendly and doesn’t change the site much. This installation will be around until the end of September 2026.
