Jaime Ruiz Martínez Explores the Artist's Brain in La Asociación at Science Gallery Monterrey
La Asociación, curated by Jaime Ruiz Martínez, is the third installment in Colección FEMSA's initiative, having launched on July 9 at Science Gallery Monterrey and set to run until December 12. This exhibition showcases the work of eighteen artists who collaborated with experts in sports and neuroscience to create a fictional National Visual Arts Team. Activities took place at Estadio Borregos and the Behavioral Research Lab in Monterrey, led by specialists. The showcase features videos, installations, and an intervention at Galería Abierta DistritoTec. Curator Beto Díaz Suárez seeks to engage wider audiences, while Eugenia Braniff emphasizes the investigation into artists' stress reactions. This research, conducted with Colección FEMSA and Tecnológico de Monterrey, addresses issues of intimidation and inequality in the art world. Previous commissions included Elisa Malo's Rumores de la noche and Ad Minoliti's Club de collage especulativo. Ruiz Martínez, born in 1985, had previously presented Tiempo de ganar at the 15th Bienal FEMSA.
